Annie is a wellness enthusiast, adventure seeker, wife to Bryan, and mom to Lucy, Luke, Lily, & Levi. She enjoys beach time, fitness, photography, snorkeling, hosting parties, making people laugh, and exercising her social skills.

My passion and joy are found in helping people better understand the Bible, in bite-sized Truths. It was a clear calling from the Lord to write Astounding Truths of the Bible because I am well acquainted with my reader. I wrote to the gal who is not familiar with the Bible, but has a desire to understand God and His plan for His people.

At 28 years old, God redirected my path in a beautiful way. I was a new mom, home with a baby and found myself with some extra time on my hands due to the fact that I had a disciplined little girl who decided on a regular nap schedule. While little Lucy slept, I began devouring the Bible. I was so impressed that one book could include such amazing wisdom for life. I had never read the Bible before that time. That was 16 years ago, and since then the Lord has allowed me to use my gifting and talents to help explain the Bible using humor, quirky personal anecdotes, and my love of wordplay to help illustrate the teachings of God and His character.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

Yes – I LOVE to hear from readers! It’s been amazing to hear feedback from readers that is EXACTLY what I prayed for. My prayers during the writing season of this book were things like “allow me to aid in Kingdom building by producing a tool to help people better understand God’s Word” and “help me explain the scriptures in a way that assists people to put their faith in Christ”. I also have heard a few times “it’s like Annie is friend, sitting with me helping me understand the Bible. She is relatable and funny” I love that a reader feels that way with me, what a privilege to serve someone in this way!

Do you read the genre you write? Why or why not?

YES! I love reading Bible commentaries, and other writers words on theology. However, I always make sure I promote the Bible first, and state that my book and others like mine are tools to aid in Biblical understanding, and are NOT to ever replace reading the Bible.

How did you come up with the title for your book?

My title was 100% a download from the Holy Spirit. I never wavered once from that title. And, the subtitle was crafted with assistance from my publisher. I created the food reference “a bite-sized approach to understand the world’s bestselling book”.

What’s your favorite writing snack, drink, and/or music?

Great question! I actually had to fast every morning until noon to write this book. I wrote everyday from 8am-noon while my son was in preschool, and found my brain was sharpest when I abstained from food while working.

Is your writing space pristine or organized chaos?

I love to be organized, but at times it didn’t look that way. I had three commentary Bibles in my writing space. However, what is most interesting (and comical among friend who know me because I loved to poke fun at it) because this book was written on a painted purple desk I refinished as a craft desk for my daughter. I also sat alongside a Monstera plant, my favorite tropical plant.
