Be The Sunshine Author Interview & Giveaway!

About the Book

Book: Be The Sunshine

Author: Sunshine Rodgers

Genre: Christian Nonfiction

Release Date: August 26, 2022

The one difficulty with having the name Sunshine is that people expect me to be…. well, sunshine all the time.

I have learned over time to embrace the Sunshine-ness that is my name. Yes, I may not always be joyful or exuberant all the time, but I have learned that if I rely on my friends, my family, and my faith, I can conquer each day head-on and live every moment with an expectation of goodness.

And that’s what I wanted to share in this book, Be The Sunshine. It’s not a book about how to be happy or seven ways to stay positive. These pages are about being yourself, showing the world your true colors, and being mindful of the moment. These chapters contain personal stories so that we all can experience love and joy for ourselves as well as shining that light on those around us!

So, just follow my voice. When it comes to being the sunshine, well, I know the way!Click here to get your copy!

Author Interview

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book?

Sunshine: This was my first time doing a Professional Photo Shoot for the front and back covers. Thank you to Portraits by Lifetouch for the photo images in my book, Be The Sunshine!  I had so many ideas for the look and design of the covers and it was wonderful to see those ideas come to life! Those Professionals certainly added their creative touch to this project and made every photo so perfect!

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

Sunshine: I do hear from my readers (thank you ALL!)!

I have a large social media following, and I receive messages from fans and readers. Some virtual letters in my inbox are marriage proposals (not kidding!) and others are from aspiring writers who want my advice on how to succeed as an Author. Then there are those who ask me questions about God and my faith.

I also love reading reviews that are written about my books!! You can read those reviews on my website :

How did you come up with the title for your book?

Sunshine: After the tragedies of 2020 and the pandemic and the constant negativity on the news… I felt in my heart to write a Nonfiction book to share my story and my thoughts. The central theme of Be The Sunshine is about spreading love and kindness out into the world. I wrote from my viewpoint (and featured myself on the cover!)  as I talked about sharing sunshine into this world… and who better to speak about that particular message then Sunshine herself?

Do you participate in writing challenges on social media? Why or why not?

Sunshine: I do not. I just do not have any extra time.

I have a goal to write and publish 2 books a year and I need to remain focused on my deadlines. There are so many times when I would give a completed manuscript to my Editor and then  immediately start writing the first draft of my next novel! I hardly take breaks between book releases.

How did publishing your first book change your writing process?

Sunshine: My first book was a Nonfiction piece. When I first started writing, I thought that I was going to become a Nonfiction writer because I only read Nonfiction books.

It turns out, 13 books later, that I am a more of a Fiction writer.

My first book, released in 2015,  was called God the Father, Jesus the Big Brother, Holy Spirit the Best Friend.  I used 5 Literary Contributors  who shared their personal stories and testimonies on the pages.

Since then I have used 67 real-life people as Book Characters or Literary Contributors to my novels.
