More from Laine
I would love to introduce my friend, best-selling and award-winning author, whom you may not know yet with a little of the behind the scenes insight. She’s a mom, wife, and partners with God making impossible things become possible not only in her life but for thousands of others. She has a unique perspective because she had a seventeen-year-old marriage resurrect, a financial breakthrough after almost filing bankruptcy, a daughter healed from life-threatening illnesses, and three prodigal children delivered that are now free, whole, and healed. In 2006, she realized that what she was doing as a parent was not working. It seemed that her emotional pleas, rules, and religion weren’t helping her bring her prodigal back home. So she decided and made it my mission to partner with God at a whole new level and created a new way of parenting – one that would bring peace to her life, help millions of other parents, and bring their prodigals back home too. Her newest book, The Parent’s Battle Plan: Warfare Strategies to Win Back Your Prodigal is a must-read book to help parent’s with wayward teens and young adults.
Author Interview
- What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book?
There are two things that most parents may not realize- if they aren’t praying for their kids, then who is then that the enemy is alive in this dark world and the war is not with our kids, but we are at war with the darkness and evil of the world trying to lure and deceive our children.
- Do you hear from your readers much?
Yes, I hear from them often.
What kinds of things do they say?
Most readers share new revelations through the book and the need for prayer for themselves, their kids, and their families.
- How do you overcome writer’s block?
Normally, I make a plan of a goal and then go all out to make it happen.
Do you have any advice for others in finding their process to overcome it? Writing is a discipline. I suggest a plan of dates and accomplishments and do all we can to meet them.
- Do you read the genre you write?
Yes.
Why or why not?
I love to learn from others. If I can glean from someone else who has experienced overcoming, success, or a tried-and-true process, then I am all in and love to read their story!
- How did you come up with the title for your book?
It was a group effort- but I was not relinquishing the sub-title: Warfare Strategies to Win Back Your Prodigal. I wanted the title to niche out to my reader as believers using the word prodigal then I wanted to make sure we all know we are in WAR for and with our children!
- What’s your favorite writing snack, drink, and/or music?
I love to eat low carb bars as a snack and cheese crisps, and kombucha (sugar-free peach), and I love instrumental praise music!
- What is the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given about writing?
Write for the reader because all readers are asking what is in this book for me.
- Do you participate in writing challenges on social media?
No
Why or why not?
Mainly due to time constraints.
- How did publishing your first book change your writing process?
Great question! My first book was a 365-Day devotional hardcover book. This is when I realized dividing up my writing into chapters in a week and laying out a writing plan was the best way for me to finish in a timely and efficient manner.
- Is your writing space pristine or organized chaos?
My writing space can be a little of each LOL, depending on where I am in the process. The less chaos and more order around me, the better the output and clarity.
